"The lineup of blood
drenched animal crackers
is hiding deep down underneath
so many tiny broken beds.
Scared little girls can only gain control
if they turn into different creatures
if they bite off the heads and spit."
the beginning of my poem MY TEETH HAVE BEEN LOOSE FOR YEARS, in the NEW Issue 77 of Rogue Agent!
Very excited to have my poem included!

Tentacular Splatter
After working on this painting collage art hybrid creature (on & off) for a long time, I finally finished it this past weekend, named it Tentacular Splatter, and added it to my Blood Pudding Press shop.
This is a scan of (part of) it and in the next few days, I MIGHT use images of some of my scans and/or photos to create small glossy photo images of the painting/collage that I MIGHT also make available in the shop, but I'm not sure yet.
The actual one-of-a-kind canvas painting collage is linked to below and I'll post some photos of the image soon.

"I don’t want to be a body stared at
and held down and screamed at
and told what my body does or doesn’t deserve."

The First Review of my RED DEMOLITION
"Juliet Cook's chapbook RED DEMOLITION is a painfully beautiful collection of poems that paint a hideously cruel portrait of love lost. What does a heart do when it's wounded and bleeding? Luckily for readers, Juliet's heart wrote a collection of poems that kicks, cries, screams, bites, and does it all with an ear for music & an eye for imagery and poetic beauty that is seldom matched"

CutThroat Entertainment
I've been doing some promotional writing for the fun new Columbus, Ohio based independent film & media company CutThroat Entertainment. Their latest film, a horror movie called BREAK, recently wrapped filming and final preparations are now in the works for a special premiere party, circa Halloween!
Since Halloween is not so very far away, I thought I'd share my promo piece about BREAK for those who might be interested--and in case you're an interested party near the Columbus, Ohio area, I'll share more specifics soon, including exactly when, where, and how to buy your tickets.
My BREAK article appears below. If it piques your interest, please feel free to also check out my other new CTE articles via my Associated Content page here:
http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/363475/juliet_cook.html
Let me know what you think, ask me me your questions, & stay tuned for more CTE details!
P.S. I will also be adding ongoing CutThroat Entertainment linkage to my little Local Articles & Involvements sidebar to the right.

You might think you know what to expect when a mix of irreverent young adults find their way into a dark forest and start tossing around scary campfire tales and blood-drenched rumors about an unstable axe murderer who terrorized the area in the past, but was never captured.
As the past starts to horrifically intersect with the present, you might think your suspicions were correct. You might be terribly wrong. If some of your gruesome predictions prove true, know that this is only the beginning. The scene will change and your comfort levels will be tested in some terrifying ways.
Stay close to the one you love and pay attention to detail, lest you become another careless victim in a terrible and increasingly unpredictable series of gory mishaps. Don’t dare to be careless. Don’t dare to take your safety for granted. Carefully prepare yourself for BREAK from CutThroat Entertainment, coming at you Halloween 2009. It will challenge your assumptions and then threaten all you hold dear!
BREAK. You’ll never see it coming (but if you’re in the mood for a creepy sneak peek, see the Break trailer, here: http://cutthroat-entertainment.com/news-updates/news/break-trailer/).
update: The date for the BREAK Premiere event has now been set as December 3. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more Premiere Party details coming soon.

I'd also like to mention that the summer issue of Melusine went live last night and includes a rather squalid new poem by yours truly, as well as a new review of my full-length book, 'Horrific Confection:

On a slightly personal note, my husband is making hamburgers at midnight. Yay!
And our piebald son, Sockeye Cook-Foster aka Gorpolis, is being transitioned to a gluten-free diet starting today.

In less healthy news, this is SLURPTASTIC:

A few of latest search terms: 'seven minutes in heaven' and 'jello squares'.
