NEW! Two New Poems of mine are appearing in Misfit Issue No. 41, Fall 2025!

I am delighted to have two new poems appearing in Misfit Issue No. 41, Fall 2025!

The poems are entitled "Precious Little Doll Babies" and "Green Rabbit Within a Dream Within a Dream".

"In this dream I am already up,
walking around inside my home,
confused about items which had been
rearranged. Moved around without my permission
or any recollection of having done so myself."

in my poem "Green Rabbit Within a Dream Within a Dream"

Another implosion of stagnation
leads toward further deterioration.
Metallic trash inside your head
replicates itself and now there are two
of You hiding behind the trash.

But the first You has succumbed
to ferric oxidation of the psyche
and the second You is bent
against following suit and yearns
to become one with a garbage can.

Your mom is a hysterical burn barrel
with complications during delivery.
Her voice either sizzles at You
or takes You out.
in the poem "Retrogradation of You" by Juliet Cook and Daniel Snethen

A NEW Review of my poetry chapbook, CONTORTED DOOM CONVEYOR!

Also appearing in the Winter 2024 Issue of Misfit Magazine is a review of my poetry chapbook, Contorted Doom Conveyor (Gutter Snob Books, 2023)!

Thank you very much to Alan Catlin for this uniquely wonderful review!

"So how do you know you are in the crazy world of Juliet Cook? Just step onto the doom conveyor belt and you enter a world of dolls, pieces of them, whole ones, effigies, doll graveyards, of a sort, and well just about anything you can think of short of Anne’s porcelain doll collection (Anne as in Anne Rice who famously collected some pretty scary ones). Basically, Juliet’s world is one of hallucinatory conjunctions, Bob Dylan surreality from his early Rimbaud infused years, sick bags, like Nick Cave, free floating dread like being in a David Cronenberg movie, watching a “Naked Lunch” while lying on Freud’s couch ( Sigmund or Lucien’s, take your pick), under the influence of a peyote dream, high flying whiles suffering new pill side effects. Juliet’s voice is decidedly and uniquely her own. I love it."
