NEW! Two New Poems of mine are appearing in Misfit Issue No. 41, Fall 2025!

I am delighted to have two new poems appearing in Misfit Issue No. 41, Fall 2025!

The poems are entitled "Precious Little Doll Babies" and "Green Rabbit Within a Dream Within a Dream".

"In this dream I am already up,
walking around inside my home,
confused about items which had been
rearranged. Moved around without my permission
or any recollection of having done so myself."

in my poem "Green Rabbit Within a Dream Within a Dream"

NEW! My poem "Empty Holes for Eyes" is newly appearing in The Literary Underground, In Conversation!

"...Then I realize
if I really had no eyes, I wouldn’t be
able to see. Which means I’m still stuck
in a dream. What if I can’t wake myself
up this time?"

within my poem "Empty Holes for Eyes", appearing in The Literary Underground, In Conversation today

NEW! My Poem “Residual Fitting Room Inside Which Nothing Fits” has managed to fit its way into MasticadoresUsa!

"You feel like you don’t fit in anywhere
and sometimes that’s hard to handle
even though you don’t particularly care

about fitting in. You care about being yourself,
but what if yourself mostly only exists inside
your own mind’s mirror?"

the beginning of my poem “Residual Fitting Room Inside Which Nothing Fits”, which is newly appearing in MasticadoresUsa

NEW! FIVE new poems of mine are newly appearing in American Poet! AND FIVE more new poems of mine are newly appearing in Bionik Pussy!

Happy end of September and happy poetry power!

As of Sunday September 28, five new poems of mine are newly appearing at American Poet!

The first three are interconnected or maybe they all are in a way. Past memories, dreams, interpretations...

Here are a few lines from one of those poems, followed by a link to all five poems:

"I still forget certain words sometimes
or maybe it's a misperception or maybe it's all a dream.

In one of my recent dreams, pets who misbehaved
were cut in half like they were part of an evil
carnival sideshow. Their skin was sliced off.
They were dissected to teach us a lesson,
but what was the lesson?"

in my poem "PAIGE THREE"

Then as of Monday September 29, five more new poems of mine are appearing as PUSSY SHOTS in the new Bionik Pussy!

Here are a few lines from one of those poems, followed by a link to all five poems:

"Dead Saints tortured and burnt are coming
back to life in my dreams tonight and I am
pissing on the floor in a strobe light dance club
while wearing a tight lioness costume whose color
reminds me of acid induced sunflowers
screaming again..."

in my poem "SMOLDERING OBSERVATORY"

NEW! I am darkly delighted to have Three David Lynch inspired poems flying next to the ceiling fan in the new Hobo Camp Review - #49 - The David Lynch Issue!

"Like a ghost angel she removes
herself from the painting
on your bedroom wall
because she doesn't belong anymore."

Creepily happy to have three of my "Doll Fingers with Bloody Scrap Metal Nails" poems making an appearance in the new Hobo Camp Review - #49 - The David Lynch Issue!

Thank you very much to James H. Duncan and the Hobo Camp Team!

NEW! I am delighted to have another new poem appearing in The Literary Underground In Conversation - "Fragmentation"!

"Hearse parked outside Adult Mart.
Robots making out

with loitering dead
human corpse heads until they
break down into past

severed ties. I can’t
read your robot mind and you
replaced mine."

in my poem "Fragmentation", newly appearing at The Literary Underground In Conversation! Thank you very much to Michele McDannold! I'm delighted to have another new poem included there.

You can read more HERE - https://theliteraryunderground.org/blog/2025/07/17/fragmentation-by-juliet-cook/

(On a side note, even though I titled this poem, all the stanzas are in haiku form, so in my head, I call this poem a haiku hybrid.)

NEW! I am delighted to have a poem of mine appearing in HSTQ: Spring 2025, the latest curated collection from Horror, Sleaze and Trash!

"My brain is broken. Slashed like an old horror
film scene, retching and dragging my un-tight legs along
this antiquated, soon to be autopsied linoleum floor.
Cracked allure of concussive gore. Bruised and confused
and wavering away from reality. Disabled runway model"

part of my long-ish poem, "The Age of Vicissitude"

I'm delighted to have this poem appearing within HSTQ: Spring 2025, the latest curated collection from Horror, Sleaze and Trash!

NEW! I am delighted to have two poems newly appearing in Misfit Magazine Issue No. 40, Summer 2025!

"This flesh ripped inside dreams or is it
part of reality now? This headless body.
This bodiless head like some form of contraband
floating above the broken red
bed frames in the dark space
with shrapnel firing inside the cylinder
of my brain. Let's rock. I can't drive
my way out of this collision course."

the beginning of my poem "Dream State Collision Course Filled With Secrets", one of two of my poems newly appearing in Misfit Magazine Issue No. 40, Summer 2025

Also in the Books Received and Acknowledged section of this issue of Misfit, is a small Review of my poetry chapbook "REVOLTING" (Cul-de-sac of Blood, 2024). Thank you very much to Alan Catlin. "Cook is master of disambiguation, of obsessive images featuring detached body parts, doll’s heads, and the like, sort of like a nightmare of disarticulating dream states. Often the reader feels as if the words, the body parts in the poems are revolting against the poem/the self. It’s uncomfortable but it’s always eye opening and intriguing. Not your standard poetic fare."
If interested, you can acquire your own copy of "REVOLTING" from the publishers here - https://www.culdesacofblood.com/books

"My Own"!
Thank you very much to Michele McDannold!

Sometimes the larger scheme of things can feel a little bit pointless to me, but at least in the larger scheme of whatever the hell, I'm my own pair of socks...

NEW! I have four poems newly appearing in Poetry Pacific!

I am happy to have four poems newly appearing in Poetry Pacific, Vol. 14, 2025, here - http://poetrypacific.blogspot.com/2025/05/4-poems-by-juliet-cook.html

The first two ("Un-pretty Maroon" and "Nihilistic White") are haiku variants that also appear inside my new poetry chapbook, "Blue Stingers Instead of Wings" (which I will link to below).

The third one ("I Hate My Guts") is a haiku that does not appear anywhere else.

The fourth one ("Another Me") is a newer poem that also does not appear anywhere else.

The first three have some accidental formatting errors, so I'm going to place correctly formatted versions below.

***

Un-pretty Maroon

My creative flow
starts internal ambience,
then begins screaming.

I revise my screams
into un-pretty maroon
that will speak for me.

Words obliterate
words into non-existence
if I don't feel real.

Nihilistic White

Fresh white snowflakes fall.
Shimmer down, glitter the ground,
grow into cold gloom.

Nihilistic white
witch, ice queen growing darker.
Overtaking light.

I Hate My Guts

Ugly fat preys on
my ribs. Tries to hide them with
menopause gut punch.

***

"Blue Stingers Instead of Wings" is my new poetry chapbook, recently published by Pure Sleeze Press, in which these first two haiku variants also appear, as well as eleven other poems.

NEW! My long poem "The Age of Vicissitude" is appearing in Horror Sleaze Trash!

"My brain is broken. Slashed like an old horror
film scene, retching and dragging my un-tight legs along
this antiquated, soon to be autopsied linoleum floor.
Cracked allure of concussive gore. Bruised and confused
and wavering away from reality. Disabled runway model.
Old cat lady with swollen feet and scratches across
flimsy wrists. Another pair of cat eye glasses
falls off my head and breaks and the room grows darker."

A small part of a long poem of mine, "The Age of Vicissitude", which is newly appearing today in Horror Sleaze Trash!

(This poem is longer than my usual and will also be appearing in my chapbook "Blue Stingers Instead of Wings", forthcoming this Spring from Pure Sleeze Press.)

NEW! Two new poems of mine are making an appearance in The Literary Underground!

"When I finally shut my eyes they still glimmer
like an impending mini-seizure or like I’m smothering
a centipede with my pillow, but then it is back on top
of the ceiling."

Part of one of two new poems of mine newly appearing in The Literary Underground

NEW! Two of my individual poems and two collaborative poems appear in Issue 39 of Misfit!

"Malignant narcissist spitting more dirty fur
out of yammering mouth. First he acts like your pet
or a close friend, then he turns on you
and now he insists you are his.

He grows into a giant tapeworm,
ribbony, twisting around your lips, trying to stick,
eat your words, call them his own,
as if he has always owned you."

the beginning of my poem "Carnivorous Worm"

I am delighted to be included in the Current Issue No. 39 of Misfit!

This issue includes two poems by me - one collaborative poem by Daniel G. Snethen and me - and one collaborative poem by Daniel G. Snethen, Alex S. Johnson, and me.

Lots of wonderful poetry by lots of other poets too! If I were you, I would read it all. But I'm not you.

Thank you very much to writer and editor Alan Catlin.

Wishing you a REVOLTING Happy New Year brimming with poetry!

My newest poetry chapbook, REVOLTING, is available from CUL-DE-SAC OF BLOOD!

HERE - https://www.culdesacofblood.com/books

(Or feel free to ask me if you'd like to acquire one directly from me and let it revolt its way into your New Year)!

***

"When your New Year begins
with having another person's judgments rained down upon you,
as if attempting to shrink you
closer to her
by insinuating
that your own style is unclean,
dirty, every room in your house filled with unacceptable
mold. The mold takes precedence
over your poetry. The mold must be focused upon
more than your poetry."

in the poem "A Moldy Bathtub Is a Sin and You Must Repent Forever, Because She Said So" (which appears within my REVOLTING chapbook)

***

"This is such a good book. Rips off the scab and gives the wound oxygen. Some of Cook's best work."

A little Goodreads Review of REVOLTING. Thank you very much to John Burroughs!
In case anyone else who reads it might be interested in Reviewing it (via Goodreads or elsewhere) or recommending it or... Here is the Goodreads link - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/222804547-revolting
