A NEW publication of an OLD poem of mine in Sein und Werden's Of Human Bondage Issue

I've been having more trouble than usual lately with concentrating and focusing my energy the way I usually try to do, so am sharing this a little late, but am finally still sharing it.

The NEW issue of Sein und Werden includes an OLD poem of mine called "FOOTAGE".

My poetry style has changed to certain extents over the years.
I think I used to be more language-based and now I'm more emotions/thoughts/feelings based. Plus of course some of my emotions/thoughts/feelings have changed over the years too. I think most if not all of my styles can be mental, visual, and horrific in one way or another.

Another NEW Review of an old book, "Horrific Confection" (AND a link to a new book,"Malformed Confetti")

"This is a dark collection of poetry focusing on childhood fears, eating disorders, body dysmorphia and…..cake. Well that is the feeling I get from reading this, it leaves a lot to the reader’s imagination, how you read certain lines in each poem can change the whole poem completely, it’s all very clever.
The book seems to span a great distance, with early poems showing childhood fears and being in awe of her mum, and then in later poems the poet has grown up and is writing about sex and her own baby (which I think may or may not have flippers)."

A NEW Review of an old book, "Horrific Confection" (AND a link to a new book,"Malformed Confetti")

"Spin sugar with blood. Add cream, other miscellaneous bodily fluids and a dash of disease. Fold in your stitches and scars. Whisk for 2 minutes, then add emotional trauma to taste."

My poetry books available to read online

Today I had an online friend who had recently read my first full-length poetry book, “Horrific Confection” online, ask me if I had any other books available to read as e-books online. A lot of my poetry books/chapbooks (especially the most recent ones) are in print, but there are several others that are available in e-formats too.

I thought I’d share links for those who can’t reasonably afford print books/chapbooks AND/OR for those who just prefer reading online.

So...the first link is to my first full-length poetry book and then the others are all short poetry chapbooks.

“Horrific Confection” (BlazeVOX, 2008) - http://www.blazevox.org/ebk-jCook%20REAL.pdf

HORRIFIC CONFECTION soon to be consumed forevermore

I only have ten print copies still available of my very first full-length poetry collection, HORRIFIC CONFECTION, so I thought I'd send out a little heads up to potentially interested parties who may have been delaying their gratification for some strange sexual reason or putting off its acquisition until the time was right. The time is RIGHT NOW, dark dumplings!

My HORRIFIC CONFECTION would make a macabre Halloween delight or a sordidly delectable Xmas gift, but soon it shall be too late.

Find out more about the book via the HORRIFIC CONFECTION tab of my website at http://www.julietcook.weebly.com/ or buy the book via the Blood Pudding Press etsy shop at http://www.bloodpuddingpress.etsy.com/ or by contacting me directly or circuitously or via bloody telekinesis, in which case I may or may not hear you depending upon which doppelganger is occupying the noggin.

I posted some Blood Pudding Press scoopage on the Blood Pudding Press blog. Click bloody telekinetic girl to slurp it up.

I'd also like to mention that the summer issue of Melusine went live last night and includes a rather squalid new poem by yours truly, as well as a new review of my full-length book, 'Horrific Confection:

On a slightly personal note, my husband is making hamburgers at midnight. Yay!

And our piebald son, Sockeye Cook-Foster aka Gorpolis, is being transitioned to a gluten-free diet starting today.

new poetry online plus new interview

Bloody ballet slippers, semi-sinister subdermal implantation, pomosexual blubber & more in my two new poems now published online by the Scapegoat Review. Into the stew pot!

(I'm actually not sure when this Spring 2009 issue went live; it might or might not have been a while ago; but I never recall receiving an email heads up about it, so I just noticed today.)

Also, at the mixed media-licious 'What to Wear During an Orange Alert' website, you can partake of an interview with me regarding Blood Pudding Press, social marketing, Horrific Confection, & more. Glug, glug, glug.

P.S. I mentioned in the above-noted interview, when answering a q. about my first full-length poetry book, 'Horrific Confection', which was published by BlazeVOX as both an e-book and in print, that I felt a bit deflated 'cuz I had only sold three print copies. Well since then, BlazeVOX editor Geoffrey Gatza sent me an email to let me know that the e-book incarnation has received about 4500 unique downloads, so that made me feel better.
