The NEW July Flock of Thirteen Myna Birds is HERE!

he stumbled into his “vanishing box” - decomposing beneath unbroken skin - ghosts walk upside-down across the ceiling - salivating over evidence - decayed buildings - the crazy in her twinkled - the tip into the fleshlight - turned up it floats faster - it’s mutiny you know to be human inside of this sex show - she wanted him to feel intimidated and to feel as insignificant as she did

"He said he was so sick of trying, so sick
of hearing my sick voice trying
to force itself into him and so soon
I wouldn't have a voice anymore."
a few lines from the poem "What Do You Think You Deserve?"

I received my author copies of "Another Set Of Ripped-Out Bloody Pigtails"!

"Maybe I'm a witch bird with one broken wing.
You want to break off my other one and stick it in
your box of right and wrong and tell me
what I should do and who I should be.

Maybe I only have one eye left and you
can hardly wait to cut it off,
sew something different inside
my ripped hole, teach me another lesson
for everything I’ve done with my empty sockets.

Create me anew, the way you want me to be
instead of letting me be
my own contorted self."

Part of my poem, "Broken Baby Bird Mouth", which appears within my new chapbook, "Another Set Of Ripped-Out Bloody Pigtails", newly published by The Poet's Haven!

I'm excited to report that I received my copies of the chapbook in the mail today! I'll post photos soon.

DARK PURPLE INTERSECTIONS next to a light purple baby skull

"Will she ever understand
that my doll brain works differently
than her doll brain and I want to escape
being handled by somebody else?
I don't want to have a string attached to my back
connected to someone else's hand,
so that someone else can choose what I do or do not
say by pulling that string."
inside Juliet Cook's poetry chapbook, "DARK PURPLE INTERSECTIONS (inside my Black Doll Head Irises)", published by Blood Pudding Press for Dusie Kollektiv 9, newly available in print in the Blood Pudding Press shop HERE - https://www.etsy.com/listing/689260672/new-dark-purple-intersections-inside-my?ref=shop_home_feat_1

NEW in Maudlin House - "Wow Bob Wow" by me and j/j hastain!

"Imagine all of the apples meant
to be bobbed,
being eaten by a random circus performer
named Bob
and then being spat
into confessional booths,
core after core split into pieces.

Every fake priest is a little girl’s dad, showing and telling her
what she should or shouldn’t do
while he peels her skin off."

NEW in Bone & Ink - Combustible Shift by Juliet Cook and j/j hastain

"Stretch marks create their own dance move
in which you want to maneuver your way out
of your flesh and all its moth holes.
You can’t help but want to move out of
the fatty strobe, create your own
strobe light, pour out the well
and mix up the bar
until piรฑatas are in every martini."

"We’re going to start a riot
in which we suck the leeches out of the straws
and fling them at those who think they should be in control
of our blood. We’ve got a lot to show them
about blood. It can’t be owned."

NEW in Deluge NO. 12 - Pajama Bottoms for Flying Ghosts of the Underworld by Juliet Cook and j/j hastain

"but it wasn't it was
right here in my room with me
a ghost a forefather a surprise
descant of the eyes
moving through a chipped decanter.

I wasn't sure whether or not
to take the stopper off
and where to pour the contents.
Maybe they would slink themselves
out of the chips, slowly climb up
to the ceiling and drip themselves down.

Maybe the bottle would fling itself against
the mirror and allow someone or something else
to crack out of that broken glass."

within j/j hastain and I's poem, "Pajama Bottoms for Flying Ghosts of the Underworld", which I am delighted to have appearing in Deluge NO. 12!
