NEW! A collaborative poem by Daniel G. Snethen and me is appearing in Issue #106 of Yellow Mama!

  "...The cruel teacher barks,

cancels recess, hideously instructs
students to place their heads down
on the desks. She is prepared to lash out

at anyone who moves against her
and bite or slash them in the neck.
I was the shy one. I couldn't move.

I was afraid to breathe.
I didn't want her to hear me.
I feared I might get stomped or cut
into even tinier pieces."

in "Dire Wolf Consequences", a collaborative poem by Daniel G. Snethen and me, which is appearing in Yellow Mama Issue #106!

Preceded by art created by Keith Coats Walker!

Here's a link to the collaboration, but read Daniel's individual poems in this issue too, as well as investigating some of the other creepy fiction and poetry and art!

A new flock of Thirteen Myna Birds is here! Happy Poetry Month!

It's been a little while since a new Thirteen Myna Birds flock has arrived, but now it is finally HERE - https://13myna.blogspot.com/

The second of this year!

Happy Poetry Month! https://13myna.blogspot.com/

New poetry by Gale Acuff, F.J. Bergmann, Terry Trowbridge, E. Martin Pedersen, Beret LaBrecque, Michael Grover, Daniel Snethen, David Henson, Mike Hackney, and John Grey!

"they'll all go to Heaven when they croak but I'll go to Hell, at least I'll be special in some way - the black wings of the newborns are torn so they cannot fly - in the flower garden of goodbyes - Lurking toxins accumulating, molecule by molecule, invisible doom seeping up - grisly, no pretty words just drops of blood - as she stands before me in her bloodied apron - Fingernails cut scars across our innocence - A statue shows us frozen in agony - Straining to escape our fate - Now we're all still alive but already I'm alone and it doesn't matter where - drive me toward the pit of flaming oil - the signals of risk, like a nocturnal animal seen fearless and staggering at noon - See the battles going on around them - I mean, so much blood students smear it on themselves - the poor cat who got mauled trying to sneak her way past - Would you think you knew me better if you could see my past and future? - I have not been terrified of dying in a long time - But I am terrified of how numb I am to the idea of dying - Solipsism incarnated in balloons - sleeping with rats on the Commons - I find myself astride Envy and change horses in midstream..."

NEW from Blood Pudding Press! PEDIOPHOBIA by Daniel G. Snethen!

Tonight, within the final dark hours of Friday the 13th of December 2019, one night after the last full moon of the year, is the perfect night to introduce the creepy, crawly, scary, strangely rotating table of doll heads within a NEW Blood Pudding Press poetry chapbook! PEDIOPHOBIA by Daniel G. Snethen!

PEDIOPHOBIA's amalgamation of horrific dolls is Blood Pudding Press's style! Quirky, dark, darkly comedic, oddly disturbing, and twisted. Screaming eyed dolls and broken doll bodies. Dolls as killers, dolls as evil, dolls as gods, dolls as horror movie scenes, dolls as bloody apples, dolls as distorted bible verse.

PEDIOPHOBIA offers you sixteen peculiar poems by Daniel G. Snethen!

PEDIOPHOBIA artwork was created especially for this collection by Josh Birrittieri - an outside front cover, an inside front cover, and an outside back cover!

PEDIOPHOBIA has been printed and designed by Blood Pudding Press creature Juliet Cook, bound with yarn AND scraggly doll hair, but don't blame me if the doll hair bites you!

According to Daniel G. Snethen himself:

"My newest chapbook Pediophobia (Fear of Dolls) will soon be ready. It will be bound together by hand. Juliet Cook is the publisher and owner of Blood Pudding Press. Every copy will be handmade by her. Juliet is also an extraordinary poet herself. Josh Birrittieri did all the graphics for this chapbook and they are absolutely amazing. And I may be bragging a bit here, but I doubt you will find a better more complete collection of doll poetry anywhere. Many of the poems are creepy some are funny and a few are sad. One is a continuation of a famous episode from the Twilight Zone. One or two might even be considered demented. And several of them are peopled with personages I personally know. If you dare to read these and you know me, don't be too surprised if you recognize some of the characters and settings. If you hate dolls and find them creepy and disturbing, this slim volume of poetry is definitely for you. It will cure you of narcolepsy and will give you reason to run the light meter all eventide long. So please spend a few dollars and indulge yourself... your insanity is worth it."

Unblinking verdant eyed stares
Headless dolls of Hell"

(within the poem "Nightmare of Dolls")

*
"Dark human corpses piled
high on doll infested hills.
Unblinking dolls smiling,
keeping tally with their quills,
as people topple"

(within the poem "Doll Food")

*
"Fearfully, I turn and flee from the cottonwoods of doll heads but
not before hearing Mother weeping and crying out in her aged voice,
“My son, my son, why hast thou forsaken me!”"

PEDIOPHOBIA will offer creepy doll-o-phobic poetry by Daniel G. Snethen - and the cover art (on the front, the back, and the inside front) was created by Josh Birrittieri.

I still need to stick the innards into the covers, bind them together, and handle some more designing, but stay tuned for this new chapbook very soon!

"Glazed glassy eyes ghoulishly staring from white bone porcelain heads - You dream of arms, legs, torsos, being tossed into an open pit - smoke pouring from the kitchen - a plastic ballerina spinning - Butterflies dissolve behind your eyes - those bright black eyes that untied my strings - Black plumed rooks pluck at green glassy doll eyes - the battered boxes of our hearts - inside a jewelry box - It happens again & again - I’m grabbing onto something live, wriggling - in a ragged tutu - blooming in the hollow of my throat - as the crow pecks out my left eye - I turn and flee from the cottonwoods of doll heads - But he always comes back the next time doesn’t he? - Dark human corpses piled high on doll infested hills - We put him back in the ground and hope for a good harvest - An explosion of red..."
